What literature taught me

My Journey with Literature Literature entered my life quietly, like a friend who slowly becomes a part of everything you do. At first, it was just another subject — lines to memorize and poems to analyze. But soon, I realized it was something much deeper. Every story, every verse seemed to whisper something personal to me. From Chaucer’s humour to Shakespeare’s emotions, literature began to feel like a mirror that reflected both the world around me and the world within me.  Lessons on Life and Humanity One of the greatest gifts literature gave me was understanding — not of facts or theories, but of people. It taught me that no one is purely good or evil. Behind every action lies a story, and behind every story lies a reason. When I read about flawed characters struggling to make sense of their lives, I learned empathy. Literature helped me see life from countless perspectives and reminded me that kindness often begins with understanding.  Finding Strength in Characters C...

The Power of Curiosity

Introduction – The Spark That Starts It All Curiosity is more than just wanting to know something; it’s the heartbeat of growth and discovery. It’s what makes us ask “Why?” and “What if?”—two simple questions that often lead to the most beautiful answers. I’ve always believed that curiosity is the bridge between who we are and who we can become. 🌸 Curiosity as a Guide Curiosity leads us into the unknown, not with fear but with wonder. It teaches us to see the world like a child again — full of endless possibilities. Whether it’s learning a new skill, understanding people better, or exploring ideas that once scared us, curiosity reminds us that growth starts with openness. 🌼 How Curiosity Shaped My Journey There were times I hesitated to try new things — fearing judgment or failure. But curiosity gently pushed me forward. It made me ask, “What if I can?” That question alone changed how I viewed myself. From taking responsibilities I once avoided, to speaking more freely and conne...

Learning to Ignore the Noise: Handling Criticism Gracefully

There comes a point in everyone’s life when opinions start to sound louder than our own thoughts. Some people talk, some judge, and some just watch and for a long time, I thought I had to respond to every voice around me. But as I grew, I learned something powerful: not every sound deserves a reaction. The Realization There was a time when even small comments could ruin my peace. Whether it was a misunderstanding in class, a remark about how I spoke, or how I carried myself — I took everything to heart. It took me a while to understand that most criticism says more about the other person than about me. The moment I stopped explaining myself to everyone, I felt lighter. Why People Criticize Sometimes people criticize because they’re insecure. Sometimes it’s jealousy. And sometimes it’s simply habit — they don’t even realize they’re doing it. Once I began to see criticism as background noise, it stopped feeling personal. You can’t stop people from talking, but you can decide how muc...

The Art of Becoming Your Own Inspiration

Introduction  -The Search for Inspiration We often look outside ourselves for motivation — in successful people, books, quotes, or movies. While external inspiration can spark a momentary drive, it rarely sustains us. True growth begins when you stop seeking heroes and start becoming one. Becoming your own inspiration is not about arrogance — it’s about self-trust, resilience, and embracing your own story. 2. The Turning Point — Realizing You’re Enough There comes a time when you realize that nobody truly understands your journey the way you do. You know your struggles, your quiet victories, and the storms you’ve survived. That’s when you start seeing your reflection not as a work in progress, but as a work of courage. The art of becoming your own inspiration starts the moment you stop doubting your worth. 3. Owning Your Story Every scar, mistake, and setback carries a lesson that built the person you are today. Owning your story means accepting the messy parts with the same ...

The Art of Staying Kind in a Cruel World

In a world where harsh words echo louder than gentle ones, choosing kindness often feels like an act of rebellion. People mistake kindness for weakness, but in truth, it takes immense strength to remain gentle when the world teaches you to be tough. Every day, we meet people fighting invisible battles -some wear smiles to hide their pain, others turn bitter because they’ve been hurt too many times. It’s easy to mirror that bitterness, to build walls and protect ourselves. But kindness is not about being naïve; it’s about seeing the pain, understanding it, and still choosing not to add to it. Kindness is not always about grand gestures. Sometimes it’s a simple message checking on someone, a patient silence during someone’s rant, or even forgiving when you have every reason not to. The quiet power of kindness can soften even the hardest hearts — sometimes not immediately, but eventually. Yes, kindness can make you vulnerable. It can hurt when people take advantage of it. But over ti...

Reading as Therapy

There are days when silence feels heavy, when thoughts refuse to slow down, and when the world outside feels a little too loud. During those moments, I’ve often found comfort in something simple — a book. Reading, to me, has never been just about learning or escaping reality. It’s a kind of therapy, a quiet healing that happens between the lines. Sometimes, the right book finds you exactly when you need it. You open its pages, and suddenly, a character feels like a friend who understands your pain. A sentence mirrors your thoughts, or a poem puts into words the emotions you couldn’t express. And in that stillness, something inside you softens. You realize you are not alone. 🌸 The Healing Power of Words Words have a strange kind of magic — they can comfort, calm, and heal. A well-written story doesn’t just entertain; it reaches the quiet corners of your heart and helps you make sense of what you feel. When you read about someone’s heartbreak, struggle, or growth, you find pieces o...

How Being Initiative Changes Perspective

Sometimes, it just takes one small step to change the way we see the world. Taking initiative isn’t only about starting something- it’s about breaking the silence of hesitation and daring to step forward when others hold back. And the truth is, once you begin to take initiative, your entire perspective shifts in ways you never imagined. Breaking the Comfort Zone When we take initiative, we step out of the safety of routine. The comfort zone often tricks us into believing that things are fine as they are. But the moment you choose to speak up in class, volunteer for a responsibility, or start a new habit, your perspective changes. You no longer see challenges as threats; you start viewing them as opportunities that can shape your growth. From Follower to Leader Initiative transforms you from being a follower to someone who can lead. You begin to understand that leadership is not just about authority but about responsibility. The moment you take charge—be it in a project, a group di...

The Beauty of Being an Ambivert

For the longest time, I thought I had to fit into one box- either be the talkative, outgoing extrovert or the quiet, thoughtful introvert. But somewhere along the way, I realized I am both, and that’s what makes me an ambivert. There’s a certain beauty in being able to flow between two worlds. On some days, I thrive in conversations, enjoying laughter, storytelling, and the warmth of people around me. On other days, I find peace in solitude, in the stillness of reading, writing, or simply being with my thoughts. Being an ambivert means I don’t have to force myself into one identity—I can embrace both sides of me depending on what life asks of me. What I love most about it is the balance. I can connect with people easily, make them feel comfortable, and yet, I also know when to step back, breathe, and recharge in silence. I’m not “too much” of one thing or “too little” of another—I’m exactly enough, shifting when needed, and that flexibility feels like a gift. In a world that const...

How to Overcome Overthinking

Overthinking is something most of us struggle with, and it often feels like our minds are racing in circles without reaching anywhere.  I’ve noticed that when I get caught in this loop, the first step is simply becoming aware of it- catching myself when I start replaying old mistakes or worrying about a future that hasn’t even happened yet. Once I recognize it, I try writing my thoughts down. Somehow, seeing them on paper makes them less powerful, almost like they lose their grip on me. I also remind myself to stop drowning in “what ifs.” Instead of constantly asking “What if it goes wrong?” I’ve learned to flip it around and ask, “But what if it goes right?”  That small change shifts my energy completely. Another thing that helps is giving myself permission to worry, but only for a short time. I set aside ten minutes, let my thoughts flow, and then I move on. If I don’t, the day gets swallowed by my mind. And of course, nothing clears my head like moving my body—going f...
